At Pacific Destinationz, we are a team of 20 and when together, we’re a melting pot of backgrounds, races, religions coupled with exciting personal and work experience. We are sensitive yet appreciative of the different cultures, races and religions that we deal with on a day-to-day basis. It is this understanding, appreciativeness and professional attitude that we all have that has resulted in the numerous accolades that our team has received over the years. Pacific Destinationz has built an enviable reputation for efficiency, product knowledge, innovative approach in our DMC services and “hands on” ability to co-ordinate all your conference and incentive requirements in Fiji.

James Sowane, Managing Director Fiji, has had extensive international experience in the Conference and Incentive market during his years as Senior Executive of the Fiji Visitors Bureau and has led the Pacific Destinationz DMC team since 1999 with a very hands-on approach to all groups from planning, designing and implementation of programmes. James was also awarded the Young Achiever Award at the 1999 Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards Working hand in hand with James, is his team of young and energetic assistants who are bursting with ideas and enthusiasm. The team is made up of Anthony Mason, Sala Naulumatua, Hudson Mitchell and Samuela Matakibau

Anthony has been in the business for seven (7) years of which four (4) have been with Pacific Destinationz. One of his major achievements was when he was employed directly by Eco-Challenge Productoins (USA) as Transportation Captain for Eco-Challenge Fiji 2001 where he played a big part in the prodcution crew working with them from September – November 2001, pre, mid and post production – an experience he says that he will never forget and one that he has gained a lot form professinally. He looked after all aspects of transportation logistics from ground, air and sea and handled all the paperwork that came with it from over 1000 competitiors and crew during the said months. Anthony heads our Groups/DMC Department but worked himself through the ranks first.

Sala Naulumatua is the Pacific Destinationz Groups/DMC Consultant. She joined the team in 2003 and brings with her years of experience in dealing with groups that deal with inbound travel operators. Sala has been working with inbound travel operators since 1999 and over the years has worked her way up to being one of the most efficient and service-oriented consultants our clients deal with. Sala’s close attention to detail and her constant communication with clients ensure that every aspect of an itinerary is met with a high level of service and professionalism

Hudson is fairly new to Pacific Destinationz having joined the team in June 2004. He comes from a media background having spent close to four (4) years with Fiji’s leading national radio broadcaster. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the fields of sales and corporate marketing with his forte being event management. During his time in he media, Hudson has been instrumentional in organizing some of the biggest events ever held in Fiji. As well as this, Hudson has also been responsible for bringing into Fiji international artists and organizing their respective publicity campaigns as well as their actual concerts. Hudson has joined Pacific Destinationz as Marketing Co-ordinator and other than the duties in his marketing portfolio, Hudson assists the DMC team by handling all logistical details as well as assisting in overseeing the actual implementation of each event that we host for our clients.

Samu Matakibau joined the Pacific Destinationz team in June of 2004 and is the “guy” that we rely on for all our ground handling movements and logistics. Samu has been in the tourism industry since 1992 and has worked in Inbound Travel since 1997. Samu’s pleasant personality and welcoming smile make him a delight for our groups that he escorts and works with. Samu can be seen at the airport (meeting groups as they arrive into Fiji) and accompanying incentive and conference groups in coaches, catamarans and sailing vessels.

“ Bula James, I have just had a lengthy conversation with Mr Jeff Heath of JGH Events with regards to the Pirelli Incentive. He said he was literally just landed home and wanted to call me immediately to thank me for all our efforts but in particular the spectacular service received from Pacific Destinationz.

You can be very proud, as I know you already are, of the warm, friendly and efficient services provided by Anthony, Sala and Rusi – your expert team of group ground handlers. The group were also very impressed that you, the Managing Director had a “hands-on” approach and personal involvement in the group and that all of you at Pacific Destinationz were so delightful to deal with.

Pirelli delegates were constantly delighted with the itinerary and the element of surprise each day as we gave them little insight into what they would be doing. We simple told them were to be at what time and to what to bring, so as an incentive, the itinerary worked well as each event seemed to evolve with each day just getting better and better.

It seems that outstanding highlights were the 4WD Safari and in particular the visit to the village and the Wet ‘N’ Wild event held yesterday at Denarau with the Shotover, Mack Attack and Heli-flightseeing., The dinner at Jack’s Hill also holds a special place in their hearts and memories and they absolutely loved the food (thanks Eugene!!), the set up and especially the childrens choir as the finale. As you know, this group are very well traveled and have been ‘wowed’ at many venues around the World. Some of the group rates this as their best trip ever which is accolades indeed!

Congratulations to you all and my sincere thanks for making me look good! I can tell JGH Events can’t wait to send more clients back to Fiji and of course, this will be The Group Travel Company and Pacific Destinationz.
